Nico Nico Bo Bico, Banana Fanna Fo Mico...
As some of you know (or even REMEMBER - gaaaaahh!) "Nico" was the first to record JB's teenage-penned song on her 1967 "Chelsea Girl."
Go to http://songerize.com/ and type "These Days" for song name and "Nico" for artist. Not positive about it, but I THINK that's actually JB's own hand on the guitar, based on several thing I read on the 'net. If one of us old farts has the album, please check the credits. The fingerstyle's almost midi-like quality might help some of you trying to work out this song, although the descending baseline isn't accented the way it deserves to be. And the very dated arrangement of the piece is good for a chuckle. Makes JB's latest take seem that much more refreshing. Edit: Just replayed the track from Solo Acoustic. JB confirms that he played on the Nico version, with an electric guitar. Last edited by coldbrew; 04-18-2008 at 04:46 PM. Reason: Clarify |

I'd also like the pdf. Email: [email protected]
Thanks I subscribed to the magazine in the summer of 2006, so I missed that one. Some great tabs each month in that magazine, always better than the Chordie and other internet tabs, which are always a good starting point.

Turtle, if you could add me to the tab bandwagon I would appreciate it. I had the pleasure of talking with Brock last weekend and playing one of his guitars at the Miami Fest. It sounded as sweet as it looks with a light build and nice action.

That's one of the first songs that I "cut my teeth" on as a kid learning to play. The original recording is more piano with a heavier guitar strumming style. I like the fingerstyle version that Jackson does on his "Solo Acoustic Vol 1" album and the YouTube video.

capo position...
From the equipment list for JB in AGM he keeps his Roy Smeck tuned to Eb, which explains the discrepancy between the video showing the capo on the 2nd fret versus the tab in E with the capo on the 1st fret.

Dear Brock,
I hate to be the hundreth guy asking for this tab but I went onto Acosutic Guitar Magazines' website in an effort to buy the back issue and was told that it wasn't for sale at this time. I would be grateful if you could send it to me. Thanks, Tom Vovos vovos @sbcglobal.net |
