Default Can Helix LT do this?

Hi,

I'm experimenting a bit with the stereo signal from my Fishman Rare Earth Blend. It outputs a stereo signal when i stick a stereo TRS cable in it.
So that I can do the Jon Gomm / Mike Dawes thing where they "switch" to the magnetic pickup with a A/B switch to engage distortion/effects that are more suited for magnetics.

Wondering whether something like the Helix LT would be able to do this? Since I see it has routing options for Stereo. (instead of the complicated routing using physical cables that these star players do)

So I'm thinking,

Stereo out from pickup -> magnetic signal -> effects including distortion-> out1
-> mic signal -> out2

Basically, do eqing, effects on individual signals and recombine them to mono for output to amp. Or remain in stereo for recording.

Thanks! Would especially like to hear from those who has the Helix!

I have a Helix, route a dual source in through a pair of returns. The LT has 1 pair of send and returns, so yes it should work.

You can also route your two pickups to two inputs, run the UST cleanly through and the mag pickup through a typical electric guitar chain, and use the volume pedal to mix between the two signal chains.

So, I’ll be able to eq the two inputs separately as well?

You can set up two paths, each with their own plug-ins including EQ and effects.

Sounds great, are there any cons to the whole helix set up thing ? As opposed to doing it the “cable” way?

I haven't found them and I've got both amps, pedals, and cables and the Helix.

No, quite the opposite. Much easier to re-route a helix than a board. I used to have a helluva pedalboard, sold them all and went the helix route. No regrets here.

Sounds like a fun thing to do - sound quality wise is it worse than pedals?
I used to have zoom / korg multi effects that sucked tone, so have been wary of going this route again.

Will the looper be able to loop the stereo signal of both mic and magnetic?

Also, will I be able to use an external looper if the onboard looper doesn’t serve my needs?

No. I'm finding that I'm not hauling the pedals and amps into the studio much anymore because the sounds I'm getting are so good. The only sound that no pedal or modeler has satisfied me with is rotary - but for that I've got a couple of rotary cabs.

A0 It should be able to. A lot of this is up to your craftiness in routing. B) There is an effects loop on the Helix that allows you to loop out to other pedals including loopers. The loop insert point can be moved in the chain.

Thanks Bob for answering my questions!
Can you record stereo USB out and send mono output to amp at the same time ?
