Gel Urethane - anyone used it?

I have sprayed nitro laquer for guitar finishes for many years. I recently refinished a neck only and I used a rub-on gel urethane. I loved the look of the finish.

Anyone used this for an over-all guitar finish? If so, did you use any sort of sealer under it?

Anyone know of any reason NOT to try it?
