Oh man...

The Super Smeck is pretty much the coolest guitar out there, I'm very envious! Congratulations my friend!

Another great thread about the construction of another great guitar. Yet, inevitably, reading this thread will leave me disappointed.

As Einstein supposedly (but not really) said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

I read your threads, always, if not expecting, at least hoping for a different outcome: that the guitar will end up in worthy hands.

Imagine Kim’s disappointment when he delivered the 1/3 Century of Progress. Mother of Pearl before swine.

Great to see! And selfishly, this likely means that my build is going to get completed now (right Dale? VBG)

Looking great Justin!

I have an upcoming Fairbanks build too. In fact, it’s in the same batch as yours. Dale also just finished up the binding on mine.

I guess a need to start a thread too.👍👍

I can never get enough of the build pics either. I’m not sure if its seeing the ‘crispness’ of the construction, or the the beauty of the raw wood box. Or, just knowing how many steps it takes to coax wood into a form and eventually create a musical instrument. Maybe it’s just the creation of order from chaos, I’m not sure.

The maple in this build just keeps calling out from every photo. I want to smell the box, feel the dust of the workshop, and most of all, hear the guitar sing back.

What an amazing art that we celebrate on this forum!

Rick

PS - feels like a poetic day
