Michal George- Thembisima Jive (modern south african classical stuff... composed by my (former) teacher.. awsome stuff, the guy is one of the best composers I've ever seen) Michael Hedges-All Along the Watchtower so yeah, I do love the whole modern classical/experimentalist thing

That's cool. I went to a Classical Guitar workshop one year and was able to get some instruction from Andrew York. Nice guy. I was working on Hejira, I think. The last cover tune I worked on was a David Wilcox tune, New World.

Add America's "Ventura Highway" to my list. I usually don't like "Mellow Gold"-type songs that much, but this one has that cool little fill between chords.

I've just about got "The Fisherman" by Simon Fox done - at least 10hrs of practice in so far.
This was my first "fingerstyle" song (other than some Paul Simon stuff in EADGBE), and I must say that it was revelatory. Kinda like when I first learned to ski and could come to a skidding stop...it was just so cool that "I can't believe I can do this". Same thing with this DADGAD Irish Aire - I can't believe I can play it. I'm now hooked. This is my first post in this forum....who should I be studying for Celtic fingerstyle tunes? Where do I get the music (sheet or tab)? I presume I can buy the CD's on line.

But the bad part is I don't remember exactly what is his AGF name was. May be some AGF members that know what I'm talking about can chime in and help Big John out. Besides that you can simply got on "GOOGLE" and use keyword DADGAD and the whole DADGAD world will open up for you to learn (and I'm not kidding) for the rest of your life |
