Default My heart sank

Two days ago I plugged my Grace Felix in and saw the gain LEDs for both channels and the Mix selector begin blinking about once a second and never quit.

Uh oh.

I plugged my guitar in and my mic and the output to a mixer. Nothing works. The blinking never stops. No audio at all.

This would be awful no matter what of course. But it's even worse given how little I've used the preamp and how babied it's been. I bought it Dec 17, 2020 and COVID has kept it in my little studio, in a snug hard-shell SKB case, and I've plugged it in about five times total, perhaps twenty hours of use.

So I sent it off for repair. Fifty dollars for Fed Ex shipping. I must admit that I'm kinda gun shy now. I had a year old Ultrasound amp quit on me once, and people in-the-know really liked that guy. Now one of the most la-dee-da preamps has bitten it. Sigh.

Anyway... I'll write when I hear something.

Peace

Hoping For The Best For You, Buzz! I just bought a Felix2 and love it! The nice thing is that the Felix/Felix2 are covered by a 5-year Grace Design warranty!

Here's to a happy ending. Your warranty should cover it. Let us know how it turns out.

Good luck buzzardwhiskey

I would be horrified given the price of these devices (especially in Europe...)

Hoping for a good outcome!

As a side note, I purchased a Zoom R24 from Sweetwater and had a problem develop after about a year and a half. Sweetwater extends the normal manufacturer's warranty by an additional year so I simply contacted them and it was repaired free of change with the exception of the shipping charge.

In that case it saved me from throwing away $500 on an expensive paper weight.

Well your problem should be covered by the warranty, so I would be patient and see what Grace says. Having to spend $50 on Fed ex is a pain though especially since you live in Utah and they’re in Colorado it should’ve been cheaper than that.

Being curious, I took a.look at the manual and that box has several user-movable jumpers inside. I'm assuming that opening the unit to to make sure those jumpers are firmly seated won't void the warranty.

No it won't void the warranty, as they recommend you getting in there to do it, and they have clear instructions on how to Good idea Brent!
