Default Beautiful fingerstyle lessons - movie music and soothing pieces

Hi,

I'm looking for some nice and soothing finger-style pieces to play on my Nylon string guitar.

So far I've learned from these tutorials and found them very nice and soothing

Skyrim - Ancient Stones
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oatMX-M0FAA

Streets Of London

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeR_tI47gZY

Can you recommend similar tutorials / music pieces (preferebly with tabs if it's longer pieces) that have soothing fingerstyle play in them and are just beautiful to listen too. I Like movie music, ancient tavern music, Lord of the rings, Gladiator, Celtic etc. It calms me down and makes me feel good.

I considered purchasing the tabs on Braveheart in the below link, I would like if there was a tutorial, but I think i might be able to figure it out if i spend enough time with it)

I just started learning “Shape of my Heart”. It was in the movie Leon-The Professional. There are a lot of tutorials on you tube but my favorite tab is a fingerpick version on songsrerr.com

Not a lesson, but the tab is available. This is a cover of the song played Daria. It's in standard tuning.

He's all about the right hand in the first tune (Inception). Many times in finger style the fretting hand placements are easy as this one is. Its not so much learning to play the tune, it's learning how to be a clone of the original artist.

That can be fun at first, then it gets a little old, at least for me so what I do is play one artist's songs for a while, then change to another and so on.

The upside is that you take the style of your favorite artists and merge them into your skills, re-defining who you are. That's an interesting journey. It's not about "playing like someone else" it is really becoming a better version of yourself.

I was reading this thread to see what might pop up - I like some of those types of music too. I then remembered one of the more popular tunes that kind of fits this genre - Hana by Masaaki Kishibe. It's in open D tuning and not crazy hard - give it a listen.

my 2 cents

I hear you Barry and understand what you are saying. Makes a lot of sense.

Daria plays a lot of Kishibe's stuff. I love his music and her playing. I like her covers of his tunes better than his versions sometimes:

Here's a video of my cover of Kishibe's Shooting Star. My recording setup and post processing tools then weren't as good as I have now:

Another favorite of my is Gin's Sakura Wish, covered by Daria. I had covered it too, but my recordings back then were muddy sounding. Now that I have a pair of good mellow sounding mics, after busy season I'm going to revisit these tunes:
