Ref: your post on NY from 2010:
Wow, those are some very great words right there. Do you have any examples of you playing Neil that you can share? I am just learning guitar and he has and always will be my mentor. Oh yeah, I am an old fart, been listening to Neil since my mom rocked her After the Gold Rush album in the middle of the 70's and I was about 9-10 yrs old. Cheers, Kevin

When Neil Young was a kid just starting, I wonder who he tried to be. In any case, he got past that stage pretty quick.

Or, you could sing like Waylon?

I try to sound like Neil. As far as Willy I'd have to pinch my nose with a clothes pin and that would hurt! Just kidding of course and I love the way Willie sounds, but it is quite nasally.

I find it hard to sing Neil Young songs without copping a little bit of his delivery and sound. I try not to go full-on Jimmy Fallon, but a little of that twang and quaver gets in there because the music seems to call for it. I don’t see any reason to make a point of resisting that just to avoid the similarity.

Some of his songs I play pretty straight, like My My, Hey Hey and After the Goldrush.
Old Man I play in Eb standard tuning, to get the chorus singable. For Don't Let it Bring You Down, I change the key quite a bit.
