Poco has been a favorite band over the years and I have had the chance to see them many times. So sorry to hear that Rusty Young has passed.

Oh my. Sad to see this. Poco was one of those bands that was special because they were so committed to the music. RIP Rusty Young.

I just heard from my brother. We went to a lot of Poco shows. He was the glue from beginning to end. Sad day.

Bummed out big time. We absolutely LOVED Poco, and Rusty's virtuosity at all the "country" instruments.

This saddens me deeply as I have been a Poco fan from the beginnings.
I treasure the song “In the Heart of the Night” as one my all-time favorites. It captured the flavor of love and New Orleans both in words and music as beautifully as it can be captured.

Ahh, one of my favorites too! For the record that is a Paul Cotton song, but Rusty Young’s sublime steel guitar playing frames the song so well. I once read that Rusty Young was considered the Evel Knievel of the pedal steel guitar and that was spot on. He was absolutely instrumental in forging the country rock sound in the early days. He got his break laying down pedal steel on the Buffalo Springfield ‘s “Kind Woman.” Such an iconic sound both instrumentally and vocally. Another musical hero gone . . . Listening to the early Poco albums all weekend. R.I.P. Rusty and thanks for sharing your artistry for so many years.
