"New Directions in Open G Tuning" Book
New Directions in Open G Tuning by El McMeen and Sandy Shalk is complete!
I’m pleased to announce that we have completed our book of solo guitar arrangements in Open G (DGDGBD). The book includes tablature, notation, and Tabledit files. Tabledit is a versatile musical notation program for guitarists. The read-only version is free! With the program, you’ll be able to open the files included in our downloadable links and play along. We are excited about this book because our goal was to cover some territory not typically associated with Open G tuning—what slack key guitarists call Taro Patch tuning. We included some ragtime, Celtic, O’Carolan, hymns, fiddle tunes, blues, early jazz, etc.—the kit and caboodle! It comes with sound clips in the form of TEF files that can be read with the free version of Tabledit.
