Default TAMCO Memphis Guitar Festival report

I’m just back and very jet lagged and bleary eyed (and headed) so I hope this will all make sense.

First a big thank you to Bob and Bill for gathering such an amazing array of talent and working so hard.

I had a very exciting and successful trip. My intention had been mostly to meet with the nineteen TAMCO luthiers who were there but the temptation was too great.

I ended up buying one guitar and agreeing to represent a whole bunch more luthiers in the UK. It was so exciting to meet such an immense range of talent.

From young rising stars such as Isaac Jang who was at the Brian Galloup school then apprenticed with Kathy Wingert to masters with many decades of experience and established reputations such Julius Borges. I can't wait to get their instruments and get my hands on them.

A couple more young'uns with instruments bound for TAMCO sometime in the future...

Joel Michaud.

And Stephen Strahm, formerly with Jeff Traugott.

This beauty from Jimmy Caldwell should be here soon.

I am also going to be placing an order with Thomas Rein.

And Randall Kramer.

And to top it all I got to spend sometime with JR.

Phew what a few days that was! I feel I should say a little more about each but the jet-lag and eyes say no!

EDIT: And a photo of the hall.

It was great to see you at the show, glad you had a safe (long) trip back home.

Congrats on the new builders.

Sounds like you had a really great (albeit exhausting) trip.
That guitar with Isaac Jang looks really sweet, did it sound/feel as good as it looks?

Trevor, it's always good to see you, and kudos for coming all this way from over the pond. Glad you're safely home!

Trevor, It really was great seeing you and glad you made it back safe. Good to see the new additions to your collection, like Isaac. Im sure we are going to see more of him and his fine guitars.

Redpick, the sound and feel was awesome. I think the fact that Isaac sold both guitars he had at the show speaks for itself.

JR, I hope to see you this side of the pond sometime.

Steve, its always a pleasure to meet you. I'm looking forward to the 'plain Jane' oak parlour I ordered.

More photos of the TAMCO luthiers later today.

I think Randall Kramer is a luthier who does not get spoken about enough. I have sampled his wonderful instruments over the years at Erin Schoenberg's shop in Tiburon, CA. Great that you will be bringing his guitars to a wider audience!

Best,
Jayne

I have just started a new thread about the Jimmy Caldwell Nick Lucas in maple that I mentioned above.
