Diamond Imperial ST
Mahogany body and neck, spalted maple top, carved top and back.

With how thin this is the whole guitar just vibrates....you can feel it. Plays great and with the 5 way/pick ups the tones you can get are great.
Pickups are modeled after 50's Fender Strat's.

Did I mention.......it is light?

Very nice If I saw that in a shop, that's the guitar I'd probably want to try out first. I like the body shape, neck-through, details like the string-through arrangement (maybe helps sustain?) and, although dual-humbuckers are my favourite set-up, I do mostly play the neck split so that pickup arrangement would pique my interest too.

Im into the natural woods look, just love it. Got a cheapo epi hog coming. Who knows, may strip it down and put a satin finish on it.

Love, love, love that natural wood grain look. Sorry, I'm just drawn to guitars that are more natural. I played around with one of the Dean Imperial's at a local shop and yes they are thin. I was so used to my Les Paul that I was afraid I was going to snap the Imperial in half. LOL. Seriously, those guitars have a nice feel up and down the neck and the guitar just seems to say quality all over them, and especially the one you got.

Dagobert, congrats! It looks fantastic. The thinness reminds me of my SG.

Did you see that guitar, like it then buy it or were you actively seeking one?

fUmmm....yeah....a friend and I went to one of the local music shops, he was looking for parts for a Les Paul project guitar and I wad just hanging out. The store had one of these hanging on the wall so I took it down and noodled around on it while my friend was getting his stuff.

After we left I couldn't stop thinking about the guitar, the look, the sound, the feel etc.

Started doing some online looking and research on Diamond since I had never heard of them. Found out they were a local company here in Houston, gave them a call and after much talking somehow I ended up with the guitar.

Sounds like a familiar story. I've seen used guitars at the shop that I didn't know too much about. On more than one occasion I went home, researched it, and then bought it that same day or the next.

Enjoy!
