Default 2003 Taylor 414ce-L4 neck problem

Has anyone experienced any neck issues, in particular truss rod problems, with their Taylor 414ce-L4? Thanks, Pete

hello Pete, are you trying to find solutions or if more people have the same issue as you?

If the first, post more details. It could be a simple truss rod set up or you could need to have the whole fingerboard removed to replace that truss rod (see, quite a difference). If the second, I think it'd be better for you to post it on the general section.

Also, if your instrument is still on warranty I'd recommend you to get it to a licensed luthier.

Regards, Hikari.

That would be the second of your points. I believe the truss rod is defective and was inquiring to see if other owners of the same guitar had similar situations. I'll let the moderators move the thread as they see fit. Hakari, I sent you a PM. Thanks, Pete

What makes you suspect the truss rod is defective, what is it doing or not doing

The truss rod only "works" from the nut to the 7th fret. Pete

? it either works or it is broken.....it is not mechanically possible for only half the rod to work. How are you checking relief?

Take it to a guitar tech in your area. Without good enough descriptions, pics and even with them it sounds a bit too abstract to go over on the Internet.

Its not going to help you.

They are all similar in operation.

Are you not getting specific relief desired?

What negative symptom exactly are you experiencing?

Okay, so the truss rod is working then, you just visually cannot see anything happening below the 7th.

As Brian mentioned, truss rods either work or they dont, this is becuase the two pieces of metal that make the bulk of the truss rod are welded on the ends, and the ends are located around the 1st and 14th frets.

As a Taylor warranty repairer, I suspect you need someone that knows how to set your guitar up have a look at it. Its not a case of adjusting a truss rod and wolla everything is great, it may have other little issues that need addressing first
