Hi Steve,

As I measure it, they are both the same nut width. The Bourgeois saddle measures out at 2 5/16 where the OM28V measures out to 2 1/4. (I hope I'm doing it right). The neck shape on the Bourgeois is different from the OM28V because it is not a slight V neck but a C shape with less depth than the OM28V.

I seem to be able to get my thumb around the neck more on the Bourgeois for those 6th string thumb hold down cord.

Thanks Jeff. Your OM-28V should be 2 5/16" too unless it was custom. As others have noted, you have a wonderful collection of guitars and your Bourgeois OM is stunning. I'm mighty tempted by it but I already have a Martin rosewood OM (Madagascar/Italian Spruce) and I would guess they sound fairly similar. On the other hand, if your Mustapick nylon crossover ever hits the market . . .

Default Mustapick Nylon

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the interested. I went back and it was 2 and 5/16. I had Bill Asher put a Highlander pickup int and and sing the saddle is fixed, the only way you could to it is rout the saddle which he did and put a bone saddle in the middle. I think when I measured it, it might have been just a hair under 2 5/16th.

As for the Mustapick Nylon, I have not found anything to compare to it.It's unlike any Nylon guitar I have played, classical or crossover. I believe my son will get it when I die. :-)

I do have the a Mustapick Brazilian multiscale Arena that I might be willing willing to part with because of my hand problem, although when I played it against all the one at Healdsburg, it was a good as anything up there.

Take care

Jeff

From the way back machine...

It was a toss up between the Swan/Bourgeois OMC and the Merrill OM28. The Merrill had a bit more bass response. The OMC was smoother with better separation.

I wish I could have afforded both.
