Very well done. That's one of my favorite songs and Mark Knopfler, imo, is severely underrated as a guitarist by too many people. He has an instantly recognizable and unique style. I never get tired of listening to him play.

That's not you, correct?
Also: Note that he's playing and singing to backing tracks. Doesn't seem to affect his audience or performance despite what so many claim in that other thread...... |

Correct, that's not me. His name is James Marcal. The backing track doesn't bother me one iota. I think his "live" guitar playing (and vocals) make the rendition legitimate and commendable. I discovered it by accident and just wanted to share.

If you haven't been following Damian Salazar, a street kid who lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, you've been missing out.
If he'd been born a couple generations earlier, Damian would have been playing the biggest stages in the world instead of the streets of Buenos Aires. You can check him out on YouTube or on Facebook where he has an enormous following. Here he is playing a cover of Sultans of Swing in his own interpretation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whaVw7KHKgQ Last edited by 6L6; 11-08-2022 at 11:07 AM. |

Well, I tried to listen to Damian two seperate times and just couldn't make it through. It's like a Willie Nelson/Eddie Van Halen mash-up and just hard to listen to. The young man is obviously very accomplished on guitar but just not an enjoyable listen for me.
