Default Want to learn Band in a Box (aka BIAB)

I have Band in a Box version 2010.5. I am what I'd call a basic/beginner player and singer. I finger pick almost exclusively, generally the Kenny Rogers, Rick Nelson, Willy Nelson, Jimmy Buffett, John Denver genres.

I bought the BIAB to add a little to the songs I play, and occasionlly sing. I have used BIAB very little because it's just so, so very powerful, and has many more options than I'd ever use. I just have not taken the time to fiddle around with it for hours on end.....if the choice is the guitar or learning BIAB, I go with the former.

Can anyone direct me to learning the very basic parts of BIAB? I can add chords to it, and make the tempo I want, but that's about it.....all the other settings just confuse the heck out of me. If anyone can supply a simple accompaniment to an appropriate song I'd appreciate that also. Wish I could find a class on BIAB!

Thanks.

The help files are very good. You shouldn't have any problems learning the basics over the weekend. It's not difficult.

But I'll check out the Help files. Maybe there is a tutorial there or something?

Hi OGN...

Also, you can check YouTube. Just search for "Band In A Box 2010"

Hope this helps...and we may learn slow (I'm only 64) but we learn it well

Yes, the youtube videos can be quite helpful - the interface hasn't changed that much over the different versions so you probably don't need to specify the 2010 version. Also, rather than try learning everything at once, you can just search for the specific things you want to learn to do... for instance if you want to selectively mute some instruments and just leave bass and drums, right click on the instruments at the top and press mute. BIAB's a great programme and doesn't take too long to find your way round it.

Thanks. I've owned BIAB for a couple of years now and have hardly touched it. But I can see where it would be quite handy, and down-right fun to use.

Hi folks...
Any of you who own iOS devices can download an app called iRealb (iReal with a flat sign is the logo), and it holds jazz or other chord charts, and has built in Band In A box Functions. Very sophisticated too...
