Looking great! I like them all, but the cedar mahogany really caught my eye.

hi folks, I had the great opportunity to play the sunburst OM and the cedar/mahogany model recently and I can tell you I was very impressed.
Firstly the build quality is very good. Dare I say even cleaner than many more expensive instruments out there. more importantly, I feel Ciaran has succeeded in bringing the Irish and American styles together. For example, the cedar/mahogany looks like an Irish style guitar. The semigloss finish, the wood combo is very lowdenesque. However tonally, this guitar has more cut and growl without the midrange woodiness which is a successful marriage between a traditional OM-18 and a more lowden-y F10 (or whatever they are called now). The sunburst model is similarly voiced I feel, a lot more shimmering overtones than the traditional OMs but more focus than the usual Irish builds. Overall, I think Ciaran's doing a great job from both a build point of view, and tonally too. It also helps a lot he's a really really nice guy! |
