As someone interested in all things Sands, did we ever get a denouement on this build?

Cheers,
Steve

Sorry for the radio silence - and also massive apologies for missing Ian's do (a great shame - one of my favourite events of the year, which I was really hoping to make it to).

A few updates ...

Beverly is alive and kicking and sounding better than ever.

She's been on a handful of domestic holidays, and also to the UK RMMGA weekend gathering, along with Tom and Daisy ...

... and enjoyed whilst she was there by the delightful Cams (checkout his great AcousticGuitarIO podcasts and social media generally; we also put together an video interview about - among other things - custom built guitars - which will drop on his podcast and vlog sometime next year) ...

and the mighty Mike Dawes ... separately and in a three way!

She's had her inaugural gig - in front of her maker, no less - and alongside the insanely talented fellow Sands artist Will McNicol at The Old Court in Windsor.

Elliott Morris, Tom Sands, Will McNicol and me

I was honoured to have Will join me to duet on one of my tunes (albeit I was playing my Wingert for that tune, traitor that I am!).

I also got to have a very quick noodle on Will's signature Sands and was blown away by it! Incredibly responsive, and with a fabulous warmth to it - like a nylon string guitar but with immense sustain: the best of both worlds!

I also played another set a few nights ago at London Guitar Night, along with Chris Woods, Aquilla Duo and Glenn Roth.

Me, Chris Woods and Glenn Roth

Me and Chris Woods

Lovely too to catch up there with Amrit Sond (who has one of Karan's Bigfoot guitars in the works). We're thinking we may do a house concert together, perhaps early next year.

I've also been doing some more recording with her. And I'm hoping to film a few full length videos with Tom over the coming months. The final mixed and mastered versions of the recordings may be a while off, but I may be able to share some in progress things along the way.

There's a few shots of me and Beverly (photography courtesy of Tom himself) over on my new website - www.danburne.com. It's a bit in progress at the moment, but the plan is to add video, audio, album pre-orders, blog, etc.

So it's been pretty busy!

Looking forward to catching up with you both (Steve and David), Beverly in hand, in the not too distant!

All the best,

Dan

Love it Dan! Thanks for sharing pics! Great to see Amrit and can't wait for his Bigfoot! Can't wait to hear recordings of the Sands!

That’s a gorgeous guitar. Have fun with it! I’ve never played a Sands, but would love to one day.

Hey, Dan!

I've been following along on other social media. Very exciting experiences for all involved. What a stunning guitar you have there! I hope to hear it in person at some stage in the not-so-distant future.

Tx for the update Dan; looks like you have been hugely busy so you are forgiven.
Beverly looks to be a fabulous instrument. I'd expect nothing else from Tom.
Keep us all updated on the next one in line...

Cheers,
Steve

I thought I'd share a fuller demo of this wonderful instrument: here's an excerpt of an instrumental fingerstyle original I recorded back in 2019 within hours of it arriving: https://youtu.be/ns1OnYZXtLE

It's only taken my three years to post it ...

I've entered this and another video ( https://youtu.be/vOS6hIbulzE ) into a competition. I'm delighted to have made the finals, and would greatly appreciate any comments, shares, feedback, likes and/or subscribes (preferably on YouTube where you can access the highest quality versions). Thanks!

I think I may have added this to the thread, but Tom Sands made a video explaining more about how it's really two, or even three, guitars in one - you can check it out on his great channel, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewvxejS_uEk

All the best,
Dan

Both clips sound great, man!! Lovely dreamscapes you’re creating with those wonderful instruments. Kudos all round!
