LIFE AROUND ME

"Life around me seemed calm
and the smoke from the chimneys
rose to the sky
like a thin staircase
that hardly discovered the glance,
white heat from perfumed wood.

The sound of my footsteps was silenced
by the water nested in the tall grass,
and the wet time soaked me
putting a coat of small glass drops
crammed together on me
that shined with the sun.

The bells in the distance
began to braid a path
that took me back home,
back home, back home...
