Guild D20 2016 Neck Reset?
Just received a 2016 Guild D20 with Lyric pre amp..Seems to me to have high action.. About 7/16 on 6 th string at 12th fret and about 4/16+ at 1 st string.. Straight edge hits below bridge from fretboard...not hitting top..Saddle dosnt look like much can be lowered.
Definitely not easy playing chords..Going to have tech check it out..Am I missing something? Anyone care to comment? Thanks in advance..Rusty |

Could be over humidified. If you have a hygrometer, throw it in the case for a couple hours and see where it reads.

Where did you get this guitar? Did you buy it? Someone give it to you?

The straight edge test is a typical way of checking for proper neck geometry. W/O pictures it's a bit hard to tell but, yes it's possible you are looking at having the neck reset. Guilds can be a bit tricky when it come to resetting the neck. The dovetail Guild used is not the typical "Martin" style dovetail and can be hard to get apart. I have had luthiers refuse to do a reset on a Guild. Good luck.

If the guitar can be returned, I'd consider doing so.
