Default Strung it up

I put strings on my #1 build last night, and it made guitar noises.
Really nice ones, actually. I'm well pleased.

Martin EIR Dread kit. Still have some setup adjustment to do, put a pickguard on, fill a fret slot end or three - little stuff.

Many thanks to those who post here, for the research material.

Cheers,
Chuck

Congrats! There's nothing quite like stringing up a newly built guitar for the first time. and then, when you get it up to tune, and strum that first chord....words can't describe it. So, what's #2 going to be?

Another one just like it, but left handed for a left handed picking buddy.
I bought two kits when they were on sale in case something went terribly wrong.

Two more friends have inquired - guess #5 will be for me again. Couch guitar out of local walnut.

Not a charter member, don’t have the app, cat ate my homework, photobucket is dead....I got a million excuses, but it’s sitting right here next to me.

I’ll see if I can get some pics up in the morning.

I have some very nice quartersawn walnut lumber that came from a local veneer factory. I've sawn some back/side sets out of it. In fact I'm currently using some for a Taylor T5 clone (sort of) build. I really like Walnut. Pair it up with some maple trim/binding for a very good look.

I have a J-15 with walnut - back and sides, fingerboard, bridge - I really like.

I also have a pile of black walnut lumber that's been in the barn for who knows how long (we bought the place 5 years ago and it was here). I'm hoping by sorting and sifting and sawing I can find some suitable for B&S. Definitely have some fingerboard & bridge stock.
