Jmat's "Tree" to be delivered at ARTISAN
Please don''t make his life miserable, but if you can get him to let you play it you will have a seriously memorable experience. This guitar is as alive as a guitar can be, and has a rich dark growl under its shimmering trebles that is utterly addictive.
I could say something similar about the other tree guitar I have, but I think the new one is even more powerful. It should be as the other is a 00 to this ones 000, but they have not yet been in the same room. They will be though, as the 00 is on its way from B.I.G. to Harrisburg as I write. There is more about these guitars in my nearby BlogThread: Sexauer '19. |

Hitting the road this morning. Traveling light with just a guitar and a computer bag. Hope to meet some more AGFers at the Artisan Guitar Show.

I got my ticket for Saturday, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. And I'd like to hear someone else play those guitars, I don't play that well anymore.

I hope someone besides Jmat got a chance to play this sucker, because it WAS that good and I'd love to have had witnesses. IMO, of course.

I had the privilege. An extremely good guitar for accompaniment with a huge voice. Balanced with very nice bass response and fat trebles. Hard to put down. I seriously hope to get another chance to play it!

I had the privilege to audition it at the show....
It was a fine example of the “magic” that comes off Bruce’s bench. It is wonderfully responsive and has a warm balanced timbre with strong present trebles. It also had a meaty custom neck profile made to jmat’s preferences that I also really liked. Congrats Jmat...

I had a chance to play Bruce’s other “Tree” guitar, a 00 which was as good a guitar as I’ve heard. So even and alive. It appeared to violate the laws of physics.

That is really pretty. The photography does serve it justice.

Hi all - to close the loop, I wanted to weigh in and say I am really enjoying this guitar. It has a very musical sound that differs from both rosewood and also the Mahogany /Adi examples I have played. The sound has more complexity than I expected but still has some the the mahogany elements. I love the pernambuco and Brazilian guitars Bruce made for me and use them for solo type tunes, which is mostly what I play. Those guitars prefer that you to play the right notes in the right way and if you hang with them on that then they bring it; they sort of say: “hey john let’s be amazing”. The tree guitar seems to say: “hey John, music is a joy, let’s play some tunes”. And so we do.
Also it is an ergonomic masterpiece.
