Default Martin 000-13e any good?

Hi,
I'm looking at buying a new acoustic for around the 1000ish mark and have my eye on the Martin 000-13e but am skeptical as to whether its worth the price tag. Is there any one who's tried or owns this guitar that has more trained ear than myself as I'm an intermidiate at best.

Played one a couple of times. Probably the best sounding 000 I’ve played in it’s price range. Neck feels a lot like the 000-15 except for the finish which seems different (maybe stickier) than the one used on upper end Martins.
Neck profile is good, action is low. The guitar is quite heavy tho and you can feel it’s not your traditional mahogany body and ebony fretboard. Rich lite and Cyrus look a bit cheap.

I would say this guitar is great. All solid wood and listening to youtube videos of that guitar it sounds great. I have not tried it, but you can read reviews on it online. I have 3 guitars with the richlite fingerboard and I like it better than ebony

I've played its predecessor the 000RSG, and didn't find it all that remarkable. $1,149 isn't bad for this guitar, but if you're willing to look elsewhere (Eastman for example) I think you could do better at that price. Or if you can go a just a little higher, the 000-15M is one of the best 000s you can get.

Here's a good, comprehensive review of of the 13:

Thanks for the replies. I've considered a 000-15 but with it been full mog I worried about it not been a versatile as a top such a sitka or cedar. I could stretch a bit higher though. Eastman look good the e10om is one I'd like to try.

Certainly to each his/her own but I feel like my new 00015sm is versatile. Maybe it’s just my limited ability.

I've never heard one in person so maybe Im wrong just what I've seen others say. I'm not a fan of an overly bright tone so might grow on me but an all mog sounds too bassy in some situations.

I have some pictures of a Sc13e with neck detached for service.
Not sure how to post them here.

I played the same guitar as the 000rsg and thought it was a wonderful guitar. I probably would have bought it if I didn't try to compare it to a 000-18 and I wandered into a Custom Shop OM-18 that was the best thing in the store. It was twice the price of the 000rsg and it was irresistible, but it wasn't twice the guitar.

For what it’s worth I played a 000- 13 and thought very seriously about going back the next day and buying it it was so **** good. To me it felt and looked like a 28 But with less glassy brightness

I have the DRS2 which is spec wise the same guitar but a dread. I love the guitar, especially @ used prices. My satin finish on top where my arm rubs is shiny due to arm rubbing, but that doesn't bother me, nor do I think there's much I can do about it. It's a great sounding & playing guitar @ it's price point.

I'm not a great player, but I fell in love with (and purchased) a 000-13e at a local store right before all the social distancing kicked in. It's a great sounding guitar, and extremely playable.

If buying a 000 13e new. Would online retailers be willing to negotiate price? I know forum members say forum sponsors will come off the price on Martin guitars, but I am curious if that is just on the higher prices models.

The forum sponsors I’ve dealt with give 40% off MSRP on Martins +/- $2000 and up and 35% off guitars on guitars +/- $1,500. Then very little discount on the sub-$1,000 guitars because the margin is so slim...

I picked one of these up a few months ago on recommendation from a friend who plays a 000-18. The 000-13E compares very favorably at < 1/2 the cost.
