Amazing Moonglow acoustic performance
I feel like we should share more good performances in the archtop forum section.
Here's a phenomenal one that I found while searching for good versions of Moonglow, one of my favorite songs. This is Jodi Jean singing with Aylon Samouha playing guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hGXaNy2VmI They're both clearly phenomenal, but there's something more than that - they compliment each other so well and the result if very sincere, if that makes sense. Anyway, it's one of my favorite versions that I've found. Enjoy!

Beautiful. He knows his way around that old Guild too.
I think it's rare. A 2 pick-up T100?

Like it! How come I haven't heard of them!
T-100? Great guess, and you might be right. Also, could be a very early Starfire II maybe. |

The early Starfires also had the white-faced pick-ups. The SF2 was a thin body too. The SF3 came stock w/ a Guildsby vibrato. I'm guessing just based on the sound, it's a CE100D. I don't know how a Starfire II sounds with Jazz. Never heard one play it. Design-wise, they're similar except for the thin body.

I went back to look at Moust's book too. Can't add anything to your comments, except that I have a Starfire II and it probably could never sound as good as that guy.
Also, I did get to hang at Hans Moust's house once for a morning, to chat Guilds, and look at some fantastic guitars. THAT was a good day. |

I was watching this again today and thought it would be worth bumping the thread for another look. What a performance!

Thank you very much for doing so; I had missed it the first time around. Splendid performances by both!

Excellent! Looks like he was very influenced by Ted Greene's arrangement of that tune
