Fostex VF80 Rewind Button Problem

I have a Fostex VF80 multi-track digital recorder. It's getting up there in age but still does a good job for what I need.

The problem is with the rewind button. It seems that after an hour or so of use, the rewind button doesn't work well. By that I mean when I'm first using the machine, I press rewind and it works fine. After a while, I have to press the rewind button with a lot of pressure or press it at the edge of the button to get it to work. Sometimes it takes a number of attempts to get it to rewind.

Has anybody experienced this type of problem? Does it sound like an "easy" and inexpensive fix?

Anybody know of someone in New Jersey who would be able to repair it?
