Default REAPER and ReaVerb

Does anyone use this plugin? I honestly cannot get a natural, nice sounding reverb out of this plugin, its driving me nuts. The Sony version is just a trial and beeps at intervals so I can't use that.

Anyone care to share their settings or suggest a better plugin?

Thanks.

Good selection indeed.. but don't forget the 2 Valhalla Reverbs.
They are really cheap but their quality is well up with the best.

Other good ones are the L480 (Relab) and the recently launched Native Instruments RC24 and RC48.

It depends on what IR you put into it.

If your looking for "free", Reverberate LE or SIR

I dont use Reaper but I am going to assume it full featured .
So first:
Are you creating and putting the reverb on it's own Aux Track and sending the signal via a send Bus to that Aux (as opposed to putting the reverb on the actual audio track you want to effect). Then setting the reverb a 100% and reducing the send signal until it sounds good?

If so then the only other sugestion for that bundled reverb would be to use some predelay mabey 20 to 30 ms to start.

I use Reaper and tend to use Voxengo's "OldSkoolVerb" and VacuumSound's "Poor Plate." Poor Plate is my go to for Reaper for free 'verbs.

Concerning the three reverbs I mentioned, plan to spend a few hours with each to crack the surface of what they can do.

Have you downloaded and installed a collection of impulse wave files for ReaVerb to use? It's designed to use them and there are several free collections online that work well imo. The excellent and free user manual that is on the Reaper site covers Reaverb and loading inpulse files on about page 268
