That is what carbon fiber guitars are for.

They messed up calling it a soundport - it's really a *feel* port. You feel the notes in your left hand! How cool is that? Added benefit of encouraging the cowboy chord player to play up the neck. A feel port is what the guitar world has been waiting for.

Default Any thoughts on Taylor's new soundport?

I had thoughts on Taylor's new soundport...

Thanks to my psychiatrist, they're gone now...

I watched all the videos.

The guitar doth sound splendid.

The guitar is expensive.

The sound port doth not bother me.

You are entitled to my opinion and it's okay if it's wrong.

Now you have quatto centavos and another video to watch. I don't think Scott likes it

I was wondering if it should be called a "breeze" port since the V-bracing was inspired by the behavior of ocean waves. All kidding aside, if I get a chance to check one out, I will be interested to see how it compares to a guitar with a top upper bout side port.

Best,
Jayne

I wouldn't buy one until Andy adds robo-tuners.

Personally I think it is stunning looking.

In the alamo music review, it sounds airier when the port is not covered. I do think it helps things breathe easier.

Right on the money with this observation!
A proprietary name would have rocketed this idea to the top rung of the ladder.
Small minded marketing on behalf of the Taylor executive Branch for NOT taking advantage of a HUGE opportunity here.
Feel Port
Taylor Porte’
Treble Enhancement port
Bass Modulation Port
Players Tone Surge modification vent
Ultimate sound grounding port
Taylor inspiration vent
Taylor Equalizer modification porte’
AC-DC Modified Vertical Attenuator Subluxation vent

Wait! How how about;
The Taylor Modified Tone Venturi.

Anyone. Ideas to help the Taylor marketing department?

Good point. Most of the time you play for an audience you are plugged in and a front
Port will not make much difference.
But if you are a bedroom balladeer like me, side sound-ports make more sense.
