Excellent question and approach. This is the way to it, folks.

To the best of my knowledge, the answer would be no. As far as I know, most of the principle characters are played by people not known primarily as musicians.

In reading some of the posts it's interesting how some people have a difficult time realizing the best way to the answer is to ask searching questions to eliminate wrong ideas and guide you to the correct one. We have found that we have to teach some people to do this when we propose this kind of riddle to them.
