Default A Simple Project To Hang/Display Some Guitar Straps

This is what happens when everything else has been done around the house...

I attached some Schaller strap lock buttons to an oak board ($9.00 at Home Depot). I figured it was better than having them just lay around everywhere. Now to find a place to hang the board.

What a great idea! Is it a 'shelter-at-home' project?

Some of those things look like they could serve as medieval baldrics!

Yes. And the governor of Arizona has just issued the "shelter at home" announcement, so it's time for more projects!

LOL - That is cool. I've been tinkering with guitars for 57 years. As a result, I have this cardboard box full of some intersting old straps I kept from a bunch of sources. I'd have to take up a whole room with these racks if I'd kept them all. Many projects....no time.

From left to right: a generic strap from the late 70's; the Odin model from LM Products; the next two are home made, inspired by the Revo models - both are made from thin scraps of wood that I had laying around, held in place with contact cement (I haven't had any fall off yet). The left one is made from maple, purpleheart, oak, Brazillian rosewood and cocobolo. The other one is all koa, from scraps I've collected over the years. I have a koa T5 and a K22ce, so it goes well with those. Second from the right is from the UK, but you can find them on Amazon(search for leather guitar strap buckle), and they come in several colors. The far right is by Levy's, the Kokopelli model (Kokopelli is a symbol you see all over the Southwest).

Yes, and the contact cement does an amazing job of holding everything on. When the strap bends, the small gap between the blocks opens up slightly to accommodate the curve.

Here are pictures of the koa strap with my K22ce. Nope, that's not a scratch on the back.

I have the Levy’s Kokopelli strap that hangs on the far right. Great strap as are all Levy’s products. Bought it for a Takamine TSF48C which is their southwestern themed guitar.
Great idea for displaying straps.

Love it. Falls into the “Now why didn’t I think of that” category.

And yeah, those are some far out straps.
