Pickup For Resonator
I wanted to drop this thread in here to share about a pickup I put in my resonator. I've done searches on this forum and it's fairly sparse.
I have a Gretsch Boxcar round neck, only fingerpick this guitar, and just wanted to be able to plug it in for the occasional open mic / jam. I didn't want to put a ton of money into it. I ended up using a CBGitty WickedBucker that I had on hand: https://www.cbgitty.com/guitar-instr...?sku=54-115-01 Install was fairly straight forward, if you're comfortable putting a couple holes in your guitar. I also added a wire that grounded the aluminum pickup cover and another to ground the cone/spider/cover assembly. That eliminated the hum that I was getting when I first installed it. I had 80/20 acoustic strings on it at first and it wasn't very balanced, string to string, so I replaced them with a set of electric strings. Now it's much more balanced. I run it to an external preamp for tone control and it sounds fine for my uses. While this picture is another customer on the CBGitty website, it's the exact same model as my guitar. Anyway, just wanted to share!

I posted about a pup for my resonater a month or so ago and was suggested the krivo pickup, I bought it and love it. No drilling or mods to the resonator at all. It sounds great
