That’s a wonderful and serious rig you are putting together Doug! Great reviews on the Studio Classic line. I’m an advocate of 10” speakers for electric guitars. I appreciate the clarity and immediacy of how they bite and deliver your guitars real tone over a 1x12” cabinet.
I’m not familiar with the FuzzFace but the EHX Rams Head will heat up those preamp tubes good and proper and offer you violin like sustain clean, or terrific grind as you dial in the overdrive. Lot’s of fun coming your way for sure!

I love Marshall amps. I haven't played the SC20 but I've read some great reviews.

Were you looking specifically for the amp? Marshall has put our some nice amps over the past couple of years - did you consider any of those?

Oh, and Congrats!

Nice! I have been lusting for a small tube Marshall for awhile now, and that seems like a perfect match for my amp daydreams. I have a lot of amps already, large and small, and it would round out my collection nicely. Maybe someday...As for the fuzz pedals - there are only about 8 billion of them out there nowadays, but I prefer the classics myself, and you have a couple of updated classics in your pic. Enjoy!

Sorry I haven't responded. I had to send the first amp back and get a replacement. The first one was behaving oddly. New one works and sounds great.

I returned the fuzz pedals too. Not to my tastes. I replaced them with a Maxon OD808 that sounds spectacular.

Dru,

I used to own a 100w JCM 900 half stack so I wanted to return to the Marshall fold. This combo definitely helps me get back to the best parts of that old half stack. EL-34s and that JCM tone. I wanted something a lot smaller, lighter and easier on the ears so this amp fit the bill perfectly.

Another pic. Please excuse the mess in the "once was a music room, now is an office thanks to you-know-what."

Doug, I'm a big OD fan myself. Can be used is so many situations. Fuzz is a different creature for sure.

JCM 900... sweet . My Marshall half stacks are a little too big for me to carry around these days but your SC20C sounds like a great amp.

How much gain is in the SC20C? Is it equivalent to the original JCM800s or does it have an extra gain stage?

Same amount of gain as the classic 800. No extra gain stage on the SC20s.

The Maxon will come in handy to push the amp .
