Default Building Season Begins

This year has gone by rather fast. Time to start another guitar. I have a new clamping and gluing method for the tail and neck blocks. I am doing them one at a time for guaranteed accuracy.

This will take longer but I think it is worth it. No more crooked blocks

Default Sanding Linings

I have radius dishes but prefer to sand with this old school method. I feel I have better control

I really like the way you think. Are you using 2 carboard pieces and are they braced in any way?

They are glued to each other with 2 2x4s. The outer waist clamp holds everything together.

This is typically the time of year where the RH drops too low for me to feel comfortable making sawdust but I like your methods. Is this a scratch build?

Hey, I just noticed, you're from my neck of the woods. I'm in Warwick. We'll have to meet up someday!

No, it is material and parts I get from LMI and StewMac. Keeping my shop humidified is a challenge but I can manage.

I haven't even thought of humidifying my shop. I always thought, the lower the humidity the better. Maybe I should get a humidifier now that I think of it. It's about 35 in my shop right now and I have a customers guitar in there.

35 is the lowest I feel comfortable. With both of my humidifiers running and a woodstove going I have 41% right now.
