More love for EJ16s here. I've played them for decades and still love them. When playing 3-4 nights a week in bars back in the day I needed to change strings often and these were the ones I used even back then. I use Elixirs on some of my gigging guitars more for the feel of them for a long night of playing yet find that the D'Addarios likely have better tone.

You're not alone. I've tried a number of the D'Addario line of strings and never bond with them for some reason. Even with the XT. They're ok sounding, but that's about it.
