Lowden S22-12 12-string Guitar, Pristine & Immaculate, great sound
A rare Lowden S22-12, cedar top and mahogany back and sides; curly maple binding. Beautiful woods all around. This is one of the most playable, best sounding 12-strings you will find. It has great resonance, clarity and finesse. Like new - immaculate, perfect condition. Originally purchased new in Basel, Switzerland by my Swiss wife around 1983, played very little; like new. Includes original case.
$2,250 includes packing/shipping. Specs of the 22s were Mahogany/Cedar as indicated in the ad.
Ebony fretboard, 5-piece neck. The shape is a confortable C At that time the S was an O (jumbo) Big and deep body, great guitar (the twelve strings version of Bensusan's 'Old Lady')... This one should be from 1983, handmade in Nagoya, Japan by the S.Yairi team. They were very well made and this one looks in a stunning condition for its age and a Cedar top ! |

Might want to check the dating. If as PierreM says it was most likely made in 1983 then it's unlikely your wife brought it here in 1969.

Thanks Pierre for the date clarification; have checked with my wife and she checked with old photos and, yes, it was around 1983 when she bought it new in Basel. (It was a different guitar she bought in 1969 she now realizes.) She brought it here to the States (CA) in 1993. Have edited the description to correct it - sorry for any confusion.
