That is just so cool! Played a Emerald Mando Guitar. The double course strings are totally enchanting. Your 12 is just beautiful

Its absolutely stunning! I love 12 strings. I love short guitars and I like mandolins. Such a combination.

How did you choose to tune it u four steps? Doesn't that create some high tension? I'm fascinated by its beauty and just unfamiliar with the technical aspects of such an instrument.

The tuning A-A was the customer's request. The short scale offsets the high tuning in terms of tension so it has more or less the same sort of tension as a regular 12-string guitar. It did take some figuring out though.

I have made full size versions of this body shape but not in 12-string format. The body of this instrument was achieved by reducing my regular guitar shape by 20%. Here's one of the regular guitars (Sweep Pavilion model):
