Default Any G-00 Generation Gibson Owners?

The new G-00 looks nice, and I was wondering if any of you have played one or own it.

I have one and like it a lot. It plays great, super comfortable, sounds good. Sound wise It lives in the mids, with some sparkle in the high end and a small amount of bass, though does sound nice in drop D.

I love monel strings and had them on for awhile, but sounds better with phospher bronze strings, gives the 00 a little more girth.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I can’t add anything but I was also looking at these. For the price they seem like a no brainer and they remind me of Martin 15 series. If Gibson made an all hog version that’d be sweet. One thing I’ve noticed is the variation of the walnut. Some of them look like hand selected boutique quality while others just look good but not great.

Anyone own one of these? I’m considering getting one and would like to hear your opinions of it. I have a G-45 studio and I really like it.

Awesome! It does seem like a great deal. I have a G-45 Studio and I like it

Looking at the guitars in your signature, IMO, the 00 would be a nice, all solid small body addition.

Hi rolly, I had two 2019 L-00 Studios, both ordered both used within a few weeks of each other. They both had a thuddy Bb frequency where the note just died a second after hitting it, I tried tuning down a half step, putting putty inside where the frequency was, a Fatfinger on the headstock, nothing worked, that note just died, so they went back. That note drove me crazy lol.
The G-00 doesn't have a thuddy note.

Comparing both of them, overall I'd say the Studio was slightly warmer, but that could be me hearing more highs from the sound port. They're really pretty close.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Joe, good info. You could say I got the Gibson bug , wanting to try one but with a low budget the g-00 looks good especially if you say it’s close in sound. I actually prefer the ebony board and bridge shape.

I have a G-45 Studio which has Walnuts back and sides. (It's the model that is now discontinued). Do you think the G-00 will sound different enough from the G-45 Studio to make it a smart purchase?

I see from your signature you bought a G-00. How do you like it after owning it a while?
Is it parlour-esque guitar with all the things that go along with it? I’ve tried a bunch and they always sound small to me. Going to try one of these this week.

Thanks

I love my G-00. Excellent tone, crisp and clear. Definitely try one!
