Default Sticky strings! Didn’t expect that!

I’ve been playing XS strings on my Bourgeois for the last couple of weeks and love the feel of them. I finally grabbed my D41 from the In-laws and moved it into our new home tonight. It’s currently strung up with GHS Signature Series Mediums and When I got it out to play tonight, I didn’t like the feel of these uncoated strings, AT ALL! They feel sticky and I don’t know if I’ll be able to play non-coated strings again after getting used to the coated XS strings. Slides while flatpicking are so easy on the coated strings! Sure didn’t expect that big of difference in feel between coated and uncoated strings.

Nobody believed me when I said the XS's are more slippery than Elixirs. I said so for the exact reason you mention: all other strings, after playing XS, feel like they have pine tar on them. Lol.

I agree! I would’ve never believed it unless I hadn’t experienced it, firsthand.

I've become a big fan of these xs strings. I really like the coated plain strings. Whenever I play guitars with elixers on them I have issues with my finger sliding if the f# and g on the low e. I don't have this issue with the XS, though they do feel a bit slippery.

I’m just going to keep XS strings on all of my guitars.
