Default What is your broadband speed?

I'm in the UK and get my B/B via the land line cable which is copper to the street box (about 1/4 mile away), and then fibre to the exchange.

I'm supposed to get up to 38 mb/s download, but I get more like 29 mb/s down and 6 mb/s up.
We get our TV via an extra terrestrial service (SKY).

We now have a cable supplier who are offering speeds of 360mb/s plus a TV and landline service for competitive rates.

So, I'm just wondering what you guys regard as good, poor, indifferent speeds ?

Just ran an internet test and it hovered around 3.10 megabits per second. I'm also streaming music at the moment. I just have standard cable modem. I don't do any downloading but lots of streaming - Netflix and youTube.

Here’s mine. We have Municipal fiber direct to our homes. We voted as a town to install our own system with grants, local expertise and a bump in property taxes. I think we were the first in the country to accomplish this — or so they say. It’s like lightning!

Haasome, that’s amazing!

I’m running 100/100 as a fiber subscriber.

When we moved here there was no broadband available. We’ve had this for a few years now. We pay around $23/month for internet.

The service provides symmetrical (equal upload and download) 1-Gigabit-per-second (1Gbps) Active Ethernet (dedicated fiber links) connectivity between each subscriber location and the Internet Point of Presence. The network connects from the Point of Presence to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) at 2-Gigabits-per-second (2Gbps).

I unfortunately live in an internet wasteland no DSL, cable, or fiber and have to use a cellular provider I just tested at about 7.7 mbps down and 1.7 up with 173 ms latency I pay $99 per month...

Cable provider, coaxial cascade about 1000 feet to a fiber node. Upload speeds don’t compare to fiber to home, but I have no complaints about the functional speed, I’m never waiting for anything. This is wireless on phone, faster hardlined.

I got you all beat (for slowness) 2.84 Mbps down. 0.80 Mpbs up ! That's what I get for living in the boonies (but that's ok as it is "fast" enough for me).

I remember dialing into NetZero, lol. And how excited I was when I got my 14.4 fax/modem. How about those old Bulletin boards?
