Anyone familiar with Jackson Cunningham guitars?
Matthew Partrick pointed out this gorgeous Nick Lucas reproduction, but I'll admit I've never heard of him. Has anyone actually experienced his work?

No experience other than these pics, but mercy--what a lovely little guitar!
It looks to be crafted by skillful, even loving hands. And it's maple. I love maple! |

Funny how my mind works. I forget all the important stuff and only remember guitars. Or are THEY the important stuff?

I'm biased. I met him with Rudie Blazer and we were both floored by his L-5 replicas. I was so impressed that I asked if he could make a perfect replica of John Arnold's 1937 Nick Lucas.
I have not really ever seen a more perfect replica of a Nick Lucas. I've shown it to some of the best luthiers in the world and finding a fault was nearly impossible. His ability to replicate what was going on in the golden era is nuts. And, he's beyond anal about the details and the process. Plus, he's a really great guy. He's gone hiking with my family and has listened to all my inane input with grace. I can't think of a better modern luthier to go with. Check his posts about my Lucas on his Facebook page ; ) Brian Fisher |
