Default Deft Tungsman & My Customer, Had a great day! Baranik & Paldacci Users, in Paris

What a great day today! The owner of the OO-12 #6, and my friend Deft, organized a Baranik/Paldacci Reunion!

As a couple of you know, Deft owned 3 incredible guitars from the incredible luthier Mike Baranik. He definitely is one of the biggest influence for me, his approach, inventivity, open-minded & skills are insane! He is the reason why I've used Higuerilla & Alternative woods on my guitars, for 2 years now. I am really amazed & humbled to see one of my instrument, in company of 3 monstrous & killer guitars!

Mike is a pioneer of the contemporary lutherie, and a kind & cool gentleman who always took time to talk to me when we crossed our paths!

He opened an Instagram account for weeks now, he was not active on social medias before that. Go check this out, you won't be disapointed!

Great post. Thanks for sharing.

I still enjoy playing my Baraniks as often as I can. For some reason, my ear gravitates towards the specific modern sound that Mike obtains. If I could choose only one guitar to keep, it would be my Baranik Meridian.

Thanks, Ben, for sharing these pictures with everyone here in the Custom Shop. Indeed, we had a great time yesterday! It took a while for your client and me to find the time to meet up, but it was definitely worth the wait. Your 00 is a beautifully crafted instrument with easy playability and a full, balanced voice. Very impressive work, Ben!

As for the Baraniks, they are all stellar instruments, and between the three of them, there seems to be something for everyone. One of my friends loves the 00m. Another thinks that the Meridian is where it’s at. Your client was particularly smitten by the Retreux Parlor. As for me, I get to enjoy legal polygamy. Today, I’m hanging out with Aloha Koa again, she’s so much fun to manhandle!!

What a great way to spend the day.

I need to get to Paris soon but by the end of next month I'm likely to need a Visa!

Cheers,
Steve

Default Where's Waldo?

For those with inquiring minds, I'm the guy with the beard. And the blue jeans. And the white T-shirt. And the stylish footwear (Crocs).

I could have simply said that I'm the guy in the black cardigan, but then you all would have found Waldo way too easily...
