Goodman Double O birdseye koa/engelmann
Here's a double O in the que.
The back sides and head veneers are some very rare birdseye koa. Here are some pics of the sister set I made another guitar out of: And here is the progress so far: |

The closeup of the birdseye koa on the headstock is really interesting. I love koa anyway, but birdseye koa would be something beautiful.

Very nice, Brad! I've only seen Koa like that one other time...did you get that wood from our favorite "Uncle"?

Hi Steve,
No, Not from Uncle Bob. I bought it many years ago in board form from a guy who is no longer in the biz. It came in a batch of otherwise curly koa-only made these two sets. |

Interesting...the set I saw--being used by my brother--did come from Uncle Bob.
Very hard, glass-like; unlike any other Koa I've seen. Made a wonderful guitar, reminiscent of good rosewood. Congrats! Steve |
