Beginner Mic recommendations (under $150)
What do you have in mind? Looking for a small condenser under $150, and so doesn't need to be top notch. Just home recording for fingerstyle. My previous Cad gxl1200 went missing...
Right now, looking at: Rode M3 AKG perception 170 AT 2021 Behringer B5 The behringer is about 60% the price of the other 3 mics. If the behringer does as good a job, ill go for it. I've also read nice reviews on the Rode. Shoot me any others I may have missed Thanks

Line Audio CM3 is at your budget. Not available in stores, so has to be ordered. It’s a wide cardioid with a flat frequency response. Sounds very nice on acoustics but a cardioid or hyper cardioid might be better for home recording.

I can tell you that the 170 sounds very close to more pricey MDCs like the C-1000 and NT3s, although I don't have Neumanns or other high dollar sdcs to compare them to. I would expect that a mic retailing for $800 might sound better, but the 170s sound pretty good to me. Evaluate what you purchase based on sound, but also look closely at specifications. Some of the mics you list have smaller diaphragm size and some are back-charged electeret element design. Nothing against those designs, but do look into the pros and cons of the actual element size and type of what you might purchase.
