1983 Yairi DY73cs all mahogany dreadnaught

I found this 1983 Yairi hidden away in a SC pawn shop. Frets were grooved. I had the first 4 replaced. 25.5" scale. 1 11/16" nut width. Recently set up. All mahogany (beautiful figuring) dreadnaught with stunning binding throughout that sounds and plays like a Martin dread. Explodes with a pick. Plays well with fingers. Slight lift on the bridge. No need to address today. But a $150 repair (2 estimates from trusted techs in NC). Valued at $1100. Priced at $800 plus shipping. Willing to consider a trade with adding/subtracting cash for something interesting.

I’m all over the place, as far as interest. Strictly acoustic. Currently shopping for a quality slope dread, but love parlors, 00-000 guitars, Martin 15 series, Larrivee, Gibson, Stonebridge, Lakewood, Godin hybrids (steel or nylon). Open to suggestion.

Great looking guitar. GLWS.
I had this model as well as many other Kazuo and Sada Yairi guitars. Absolute best bang for the buck, and very well made.

Thanks, okeem. The figure on this mahogany is stunning. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it sitting with a pile of misfit toys in an area pawnshop. These are very well-built Guitars. And for me it was a no brainer to put some money into getting the frets done and getting it set up. Great volume, string definition. I play with fingers, but this thing really explodes with a pick.
