Been quite a while since I checked out the “Show and Tell” forum but decided to check for some reason. I’m a big fan of Jerry’s Guitar Bar, so when I saw your post on “Farewell to Whisky” I had to listen. After listening (great job BTW) I accidentally clicked (I tend to do that on my iPad) the link in your signature for “The Well Traveled Road”. I liked it so much I was inspired to track down this post and give it another listen. Excellent original.

I generally never click on posts with originals so would have missed this if not for the stumble fingered touch on your other post. I’ll have to reconsider my listening criteria - no telling what I’ve missed.

I enjoyed your tune AND your playing.
I have a question regarding the tuning used. How can you tune the G string down to D without it loosing tone? Isn't it too slacked? (ok.. that's 2 questions)

Thanks guys!

Picking Moose, I goofed, I had a typo in my OP. The tuning is CGCGCD. If the 3rd string was tuned down to D things might get a little floppy, but hey, what if a capo was used? Hmmm.

Dustin, I recently bought El McMeen's Celtic Guitar Treasures and the whole book is CGDGAD, a tuning I don't usually play in that much. DADGAD and CGDGCD feel like home to me though.
