Default O’Carolan’s ramble to Cashel

Hi all

This is the next stage in my recent O’Carolan binge...

I am loving Steve Baughman’s playing and arranging of these pieces and they are very aspirational to me - anybody who enjoys Celtic playing should seek him out.

This one was a little longer than average and had 6 or 7 different sections / variations, so it taxed my mental capacities in learning it. Also a few technical skills that I didn’t (don’t) have in the way it is played and some of the ornaments.

Anyway, it’s a lovely mournful tune and I really enjoyed playing it and recording it outside today.

Thanks for listening.

Really nice.

I will now listen to Steve Baughman.

I started out with Pentangle, on through Renbourn's Black Balloon, and I have enjoyed such music ever since.

Thanks for listening.

Steve has got a lot of great videos (The Celtic session) on YouTube and is definitely worth some listening time.

Great job. Are your videos done in your backyard? Looks like a wonderful place to play.

Thanks Barry - that’s good to hear!

This guitar is a beauty and works so well with the Ernie Ball AB strings IMO.

Hi Bob

Yes - this is our back garden and it is a very rural and beautiful setting in which I feel very luck to be able to play (when the weather and wind permit..)

Peter
