Keely Compressor +
does anyone use this? or has anyone tried it with acoustic guitar?
Right now my setup is pretty straigtforward, Gibson J100xt or Hummingbird Artist (Both have Baggs Anthem SL installed) into a Baggs Venue DI to a Mackie Mixer into either QSC K10's or JBL Eon610 Powered Speakers. I love the tone of the guitars but I'm looking for just a bit of smoothing without altering the tone of the guitars. The Keely has the Blend option which is what grabbed my attention. anyway, I'd love to hear your experiences with it. Also I'm not interested in recommendations for other Comps at this time. (Threads like this tend to get muddied with well meaning posts from members recommending other pieces) |

I played the keeley and wampler ego compressor side by side for over an hour at GC with my acoustic and left with the wampler - sounded better, quieter, nice construction.

Keeley makes good stuff. Probably a safe bet.
comps are very subtle and its hard to compare them. i have the keeley mod something or other, its a well made unit. I would think you could buy with confidence. You can return it to GC if you dont like it. |

I haven't used the comp +, but I do use the GC-2 and it works great. I don't feel the need for a blend control. I only use it on solos. I've never used a comp that didn't change dynamics somewhat.
