Your grocery store sells distilled water by the gallon.

Look in the water or even the baby supplies aisle.

You can distill water yourself.

All you need is a heat source (stove), a pot with cover, a plastic tube, and a bowl or something to collect the water. Drill a hole in the cover, insert tube, stick other end of tube into bowl, put water in the pan and boil it, watch distilled water condense in the tube and end up in the bowl.

Or go to your grocery store.

If you have been using tap water, you may have ruined it already. I killed a planet Waves by using tap water once! Molded instantly. I have a well, so that may have sped up the crud factor.

I actually humidify my home with distilled water. It is a lot less messy in the long run because the humidifiers run cleaner and do not put impurities in the air. I normally purchase mine from the grocery store by the case when it is on sale. It goes for under $.70 a gallon. You can also get it from drug stores but it is usually a little more.

Not only is keeping your guitars at about 50% rh important, your eyes, lungs, and skin fair a lot better than in dry conditions.

Respectfully yours,

Heliman

Easy.

Buy yourself a de-humidifier and run it full blast then take this distilled water and put it in your humidifier.

Repeat process.

Heh heh, Now -instead of puttng water in that pan, put some fermented corn mash in there (Chicken feed (scratch) works great with some sugar and a package of yeast)
-now ya got yerself a hooch mak'in contraption!
-done it, several times, the first product is the strongest, it'll hold a flame!
