Default Grey Cup - CFL

Eastern and Western Conference Finals are today in the Canadian Football League playoffs. Winners go to the Grey Cup.

Who are you following? I'm a Saskatchewan fan and they play today.

I know we have a couple of CFL fans here.

I have been a Roughrider fan all my life as I grew up in Regina.Even though I lived in Montreal for 15 years and St Paul MN for 27,I remain a loyal supporter.

As I write it's not looking that good for the green and white.

The Canadian game is more entertaining than the NFL IMO.The rouge rule stinks but the other features like the longer and wider field are a plus.

I know that Toronto has made gestures towards receiving an NFL franchise. If that happens the CFL will be no longer.

It's also a good way for many US college players to continue playing pro if they are not drafted by the NFL.

Hey Gabe, Sask led 1-0 but you're right, they're down now 10-0. I'm flipping between the CFL and NFL games right now (Pats).

Just out of curiosity, what do Canadians call soccer? Is it football or soccer? If so is "American" football, and thus Candian football, called football?

Hey RP, we (Canadians) call soccer "soccer", just like the US. We use the term Football the same was as the US. It's a good question because the rest of the world calls "soccer" "football".

Although I have spent more than half of my life in the USA and am a citizen,I consider myself a Canadian too.

Every time the Sask.Roughriders claim first place they choke. So I was not surprised that Winnipeg beat them out.

Another Canadian term:"Javex" which is Chlorox in the US.

For football it's either CFL or NFL football.

Also no one in Canada says "Ice Hockey" just "Hockey".

"Shinny" is rink rat hockey,or pond hockey.

Well, that was a lackluster game.

Hoping I can catch tomorrow's Grey Cup on tv at the hotel here in the US. One of the ESPN channels should have it.

Who's watching? What's the big half time show?

Thanks Phil - I just confirmed it's on. I'll watch it from my hotel room.

Keith Urban is the half time entertainment!

I like Keith Urban a lot, but I'd rather see one of the many talented Canuck entertainers perform than an Aussie who's never lived in Canada.
