Default After almost fifty years of mostly lousy guitar playing I do have one fan...

...who happens to be a deaf puppy!

Who is your biggest fan?

PS - The jam was at my house, I would not take my dog to someone else's jam!

Guild jumbo 12-string - he's picking up good vibrations!

LOL. When I read your thread title I thought of my father's last dog. She used to sit next to me on the couch when I played.

I do that so she won't try to crawl into somebody's lap and lick their face while they are trying to take a solo. She loves attention from everybody.

I had a cat that seemed to like major 7th chords. He would come trotting in to the room whenever I played something that had a few of them. Best audience I ever had.

My cats like to curl up on the floor and listen to me as I struggle to learn a new song.

My wife is my best fan. When I brought my first guitar home she said why don't you set up a practice area in the kitchen so I can hear you in the evenings while I make us dinner? She has seen a warehouse full of gear come and go through our front door and never raised a concern. As the song says "I Got Lucky".

Most dogs seem to have sensitive hearing, especially in the high frequency range a little over what humans are able to pick out, and with that in mind I know my dog comes over to sit at my feet when I play the spruce/rosewood OM -
She does appreciate the rosewood overtones, and all it takes is a light touch on the strings to make it sing!

Just sitting down with that guitar gives you a leg up. Just make sure the dog doesn't get one as well.

The Beach Boys song 'Good Vibrations' written by Brian Wilson got it's title from a discussion he had with someone - his Mom? - about how dogs seem to react to certain human emotions. How they seem to pick up on good vibrations.

Your dog pictured seems like a great example.
