If you have a dedicated bass in your group hidden amongst the fiddles, then either would probably be fine. If you don't, then you might want the X30 because it adds more of a lower end.

FYI, our Irish trad session usually has several fiddles, a couple flutes, a button box, maybe some pipes, whistle players; the guitar players take turns and seldom play at the same time unless they are doing something other than providing chordal backing.
